NYC: New York Color CityProof 24 Hour Eyeshadow in Brooklyn Mocha

Hello lovelies! Today I have a review of one of my favorite Influenster products: NYC CityProof 24 Hour Eyeshadow. It comes in a crayon form, with a twistable bottom, similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks and the NARS Soft Touch Shadow Pencils.

Left, normal // Right, blended out
I received "Brooklyn Mocha", a sort of shimmery, dark taupe color. I'm really happy with the shade since browns and neutrals are my daily go-tos. I was worried about the pigmentation of it, since I don't have any experience with NYC Shadows, but it's actually really good! It glides on nice and smooth and doesn't need to be layered up. You can lighten the color by blending it out, but you'll have to do it fairly quickly; after about 30 seconds I had a hard time blending it, I guess because it's waterproof.

Which, by the way, it lives up to! I smeared water all over the swatch and scrubbed at it, and it only bled a tiny bit on the edges, where it wasn't as thickly applied. It took a bit of my favorite Purity face wash to get it off! I think it's a fair assumption to say this would last on a hot summer day :)

Here's the shadow look I went with for the day. This picture was actually taken about 6 hours after I did my makeup this morning! No touch ups!

I applied the NYC CityProof "Brooklyn Mocha" all over my lid, then blended Too Faced "Semi Sweet" from edge to crease, highlighting the brow bone with Too Faced "White Chocolate" and smudging a little of the "Semi Sweet" under my lower lash line (all Too Faced from the Chocolate Bar Palette). Eyeliner is Rimmel Scandaleyes Gel Liner, Mascara is Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal and Rimmel Lash Accelerator

All in all, I am really impressed with this shadow and will definitely be purchasing a few more shades! I mean, they're highly pigmented, silky smooth, long lasting and waterproof -- oh! and they're only $3! Total win!
