How I Style It: Basic Tee

Happy hump day, lovelies! Today I'm linking up with Tif @ Bright on a Budget to show you how I style a basic tee!

I have come to really love a good basic tee and a simple outfit since entering motherhood. It makes mornings so much easier when I can just grab a t-shirt, throw on a pair of jeans, slip on a pair of sandals and run out the door. Plus there are about a million ways to add variety to a basic tee, which really stretches your wardrobe without having to buy new clothes!

I couldn't pick just one favorite, so here are 3 different ways I like to style a plain, white t-shirt!

First things first:

The Tee.

Mine is super old from JCPenney, but I listed a few below. What I love about this top is that it's from the petites section so it fits my small frame perfectly. It's hemline is sort of rounded and the sleeves are capped to give it a little something "extra" as opposed to a typical plain t-shirt. The other great thing about it is the material. I'm not sure what it's made of, but it's a little bit stretchy and just looks nicer than plain old cotton so it's easy to dress up for work or church. It's also just incredibly soft and comfy!

{Denim on Black}

I love a good denim shirt. They're so versatile! I actually threw on this outfit a few days ago to hit the grocery store. I'm not completely opposed to going out of the house in sweatpants and a tank top...I totally do that all the time! But now and then I like to fix myself up a little bit :) It makes me feel good! It's actually one of the things I mentioned in my 10 Ways to Boost Your Self -confidence post! You can read up on that here.

For this outfit I chose minimal jewelry. I wanted to keep it simple and casual.

I don't think I'll ever get over this amazing necklace. It is one of my favorite gifts of all time and I will cherish it forever.

{Business Casual}

I feel like a blazer can completely upgrade an entire outfit. That's what I love about this look...it's perfect for those casual Fridays in the office. You can easily swap out the heels for flats and ditch the blazer after work for a more casual look.

{Summer Aqua}

This is one of my favorite go-to outfits. It's so simple yet so cute and put together! I love that I can mix and match to make so many different varieties of it as well. I can swap this scarf for a different one or change shoes or t-shirts...the possibilities are endless!
