Summer is nearly halfway through here in Missouri and I've been eyeing quite a few new trends popping up all around. From bucket bags to chunky heels, there's been a little bit of everything this season, with lots of pieces that will transition perfectly into Fall. Here's a few key things I've spotted, both high end and budget friendly:
Bucket Bags: Rebecca Minkoff VS Liz Claiborne // Bucket bags are the new crossbody fad it seems. These two are twice as trendy with those adorable tassels! Really the biggest difference in this duo (besides the price tag), is the strap!
Jumpsuits: Julia Jordan VS Forever 21 // After a wonderful 2014 run, full-length rompers are back, and for good reason. There is nothing more empowering than being able to rock a jumpsuit, especially if they're as gorgeous as these two are! I love the solid black/lace combo but such a trendy item makes my wallet
come to a screeching halt hesitate at such a hefty price tag. Luckily Forever 21 is on the ball and has a strikingly similar one for about 1/4th the cost!
Chambray Shirtdresses: Lord & Taylor VS Maurice's // I'm so glad chambray shirtdresses are in this year; they're perfect for fall, and a great wardrobe staple to have on hand for years to come. Splurge on this Lord & Taylor one or Save with this Maurice's one, either way you can't go wrong!
Flare Leg Jeans: NYDJ VS American Eagle // I've spotted more and more flare leg jeans lately! I thought I was in middle school again...seriously, probably my least favorite trend, but I give the people what they want. The best way to rock a flare is to make sure they're a good fit and opt for a dark rinse. The darker the wash the more slimming they will be which is a necessity when you're making part of your body look wider than it is. As a petite, I don't know if I'll ever be able to embrace anything but skinnies again, but if I were to hop back on the flare train I certainly wouldn't want to do it at a high price. I love AE's jeans; a good dupe for the real deal plus great quality at half the cost!
Fringe Heels: Steve Madden VS LuLu's // Fringe has been everywhere this season! From bags to booties and everything in between, fringe is definitely on trend this summer and I don't see it packing up for fall. It brings a very boho, 1970's vibe to any outfit (so maybe don't pair it with those wide leg pants), which always screams summertime. This popular Steve Madden pair is a little out of my price range, but I found a ridiculously similar pair at LuLu's for $100 less! And even better, the LuLu's pair is made of vegan materials :)
Round Sunglasses: Ray Ban VS Forever 21 // Another retro throwback, round sunnies are back for the summer. I never turn down a good deal on some killer shades, so these F21 beauties are looking much more appealing than their $100 counterpart. Fashion Tip: opt for larger, plastic frames over metal ones, a'la Jackie-O rather than Elton John ;)
What trends are you loving this season? Are there any you're hoping to see pop up this fall?
