I used to be so scared to mix prints. I thought the patterns would clash and look too busy or crazy. And while I now know that that can sometimes be the case, I've learned some simple tricks on how to always get it just right.
Option 1: Stay In the Same Color Family. Here I paired black and white polka dot pants with a black and white grid shirt. By keeping with the black and white theme, I eliminate any chance of "clashing" and keep the whole look cohesive. Bright pink shoes give this look a punch of color for added style.
Option 2: Pair a Neutral with a Bright // Stripes are always a neutral in my book, especially black and white stripes. They can be paired with any color (even tan!). This floral peplum has also been on my radar for a while now, and I've always been a fan of stripes & florals mixed together. Since this top is mostly bright with a bit of black and white mixed in, it looks great with a black and white skirt.
Option 3: Pair Subtle with Bold // I love this look of floral shorts with a gingham top. It works well because the pattern on top is much more subtle than the bright, bold floral underneath.
