September, I've been waiting for you! I always look forward to the "ber" months for cinnamon/pumpkin/apple scents, cozy sweaters, warm fires, hot cocoa, Christmas carols....It's all perfect!
Now that it's September, it's time to kick off with a new Currently post. Here's what I'm up to this month:
Reading // I wish I could say I've been reading so many different books and novels, but honestly I just don't have the time to crack open a paperback. I'm looking forward to our quick Kentucky trip this October to maybe read the new Harry Potter novel, but until then, I just enjoy flipping through my Better Homes & Gardens mags when I get a few spare minutes!
Trying // I'm trying to get out more. It can be SO hard to go on day trips or play dates with two littles on your own. Even if everyone is on their best behavior, the idea of struggling through our morning routine early enough to arrive anywhere on time, making sure everyone is dressed, fed, and has their things packed, and actually getting in the car and out the door is such a stressful process that I literally dread going places alone. Even grocery shopping has been getting put off. But this month I'm trying to just go anyway. Anxiety be damned, it is not fair for Lucy to miss out on fun with her friends or learning opportunities simply because I'm such a mess. She has so much life left to live and I refuse to put the brakes on her childhood.
Hoping // I'm hoping that that whole trying thing works out, haha. But in all seriousness, I'm just hoping that I can be the best mama I can be. Sometimes the mom guilt is overwhelming when I'm wrapped up in a fussy baby and have to ignore my toddler. I see her face watching me comfort and rock him and see her wonder why that isn't always her. So I'm hoping that even though she'll probably never remember this season of life, that she knows I tried my best and loved her deeply all the way through it.
Decorating // Everything! You probably know we just bought our first home, so the Pinterest boards are teeming with ideas and wishlists! I'm particularly excited to decorate my front porch for fall. And don't even get me started on Christmas! This bay window garland decor is almost definitely happening in our living room!
To-Do Listing // Oh, gosh. The to-do lists never end around here. I've got a list as long as my arm of things I want to do. Isn't that life, though? I'm just trying to embrace the crazy I've been blessed with and make it one day at a time. I guess my most current to-do list involves some blog post work and a gallery wall for Lucy's room! I'm so excited to get her big girl bedroom done! Think Lilly Pulitzer ;)
What are y'all up to this month? Who else is ready for all the fall things?!
Happy Fall, y'all!
