Tomorrow is Turkey Day! We're not planning on going shopping until later in the morning on Black Friday, but skipping the rush doesn't have to mean missing out on good deals! Here are my top items from my top 3 Black Friday stops that I'm hoping to snag during our after rush-hour shopping spree.
Not only is Kohl's offering $15 Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent (they only do this once a year!), they also have a ton of great deals on kitchen and home items as well as electronics and toys. We aren't in the market for any of the crazy must-have toys like Hatchimals this year (thank God), so I'm planning to browse through Kohl's at a leisurely pace, finding a few goodies here and there if I'm lucky. Items I might actually search out include:
Bella Dual Brew Single Cup Coffee Maker, $19.99 // Normally anywhere from $30-50, this guy will be $20 (after mail-in rebate), making him a respectable 60% off.
Discovery Kids Canvas Play Teepee, $34.99 // These canvas play tents make adorable reading nooks and are tons of fun for the kiddos! At 65% off it's definitely a steal, but it you're crafty you could even try making one yourself!
Women's Crystal Plaid Watch, $9.99 // Not a big ticket item, but I love a good deal on trendy pieces that may not make it into next year's wardrobe. $10 for a cute watch sounds great to me! This one is 50% off and comes in black + white, too.
Lauren Conrad Faux Leather Tassel Keychain, $6.99 // Also appearing on one of my holiday gift guides (coming soon!), this tassel keychain would look adorable on the side of any bag or dangling from your car keys. At right around $10 off (just shy of 60% off), it's not an outrageous deal by any means, but if there are a few left I think they'd make super cute gift exchange presents!
Holiday Memories Jar Candle, $3.99 // Skip Bath & Body Works and head to Kohl's to pick up a dozen of these stupid cheap candles! They smell amazing, last forever, and fill the whole house with yummy fragrance! My favorite scent is Sugar Cookie and I'm definitely stocking up while they're roughly 70% off.
Target is usually one of my favorite one-stop-shops so I was pretty disappointed to see that they were once again opening in the evening on Thanksgiving Day. I was hoping to see some better deals, but upon browsing the ads ahead of time found that most of the items I was interested in at Target were significantly cheaper at Walmart! Sorry, Bullseye, you're just not meeting my standards this year. A few items I might still be on the watch for:
Cooking for Jeffery by Ina Garten, $12.87 // Anyone else a Food Network fanatic? I love Barefoot Contessa and would love to snag her newest cookbook while books are 50% off!
Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Perfume, $30.99 // Since designer perfumes are 30% off, I'm on the hunt for a new spritz! My mom has this one and it's one of my favorites that I just don't own yet.
Lainee d'Orsay Pumps, $20.99 // All shoes (and clothing) are 30% off so I'm hoping to score a few more pairs of my all time favorite pumps!
Walmart is known for having great Black Friday deals and this year doesn't disappoint. I have several wishlist items I'd love to snag on sale here but nothing too vital, so they still can't pull me away from the dinner table at 6pm yet! ;) Here's what I'm after:
Downton Abbey Seasons, $6.96 // I normally watch Downton on Amazon Prime but I would love to own the seasons on DVD in case they ever disappear from streaming. At right around 75% off, these are a steal. Walmart always amazing deals on movies and TV series on Black Friday.
Pioneer Woman 27pc Cooking Set, $89 // I would love to get new pots and pans! We've had the same cheap set + hand-me-downs since we were married and they're starting to fall apart. I've heard great reviews on the Pioneer Woman sets and the cute blue color plus 55% off pricepoint sound like a winner to me!
Hoover T Series WindTunnel Rewind Vacuum, $44 // We are in desperate need of a new vacuum (ours is knocking on death's door) and this one has good reviews and is super cheap at 55% off! I'd love to splurge and get a pricey but long lasting vacuum, but with 2 kids and a dog I just don't see the point in possibly ruining a several hundred dollar vacuum with cheerios and fur.
A few things to SKIP no matter where you're shopping:
Linens, Bedding, and Bath // These are always on a great sale at the beginning of the new year. Save your Christmas money and shop in January at the same or better pricing without the crowds.
Clothing // This goes at least for women's and baby...don't waste valuable Black Friday shopping time trying on or even browsing the racks for clothing! The deals are almost always the same as any other random weekend sale and some deals like Carter's at Kohl's are actually cheaper at their namesake store (Carter's/Oshkosh) on Black Friday.
We prefer to enjoy Thanksgiving as a family in our home and don't like to support stores during Thanksgiving Day hours. Do you fight the early Black Friday crowds or hang back and see what's left after hours?
