Happy Wednesday, y'all!
Happy Wednesday, y'all!
I'm currently loving a ton of new products I received from L'Oreal recently and I wanted to share them with you guys!
Shop the Haul
Here's what I loved:
Infallible Pro-Glow 24HR Foundation || A word of caution: this foundation is very runny. Like almost watery. I love that it comes in a squeezable tube, but I feel like I have to be very careful not to waste valuable product, since you don't have to do much squeezing before it drips out of there. That being said, it actually has a decent amount of coverage for being such a seemingly thin foundation! It definitely lives up to that pro-glow name as it gives a fresh, dewy finish but stays put most of the day. Comparing it to L'Oreal's True Match Lumi (which I also really like!), I would say it's less dewy, but still not matte. I don't feel like a grease ball or get oily after a few hours like I can with the Lumi.
Voluminous Feline Mascara || I was so surprised at how much I love this! I am a pretty picky mascara person because my lashes are short and stick straight. I have a hard time finding mascaras that will really lengthen while still giving a little volume (and vice versa) but this works really well! It doesn't clump AT ALL. It almost seems like it doesn't apply a lot of actual product, but I think a little just goes a long way. It does a fantastic job of coating each and every lash and the coarse separated bristles comb it through nicely to allow for maximum length. My lashes still look plump and pretty, but don't look dry and clustered. I haven't had a problem with flaking during the day, either. (Can we also talk about the gorgeous packaging? I mean.....)
Voluminous Lash Primer || I was a little wary of using a lash primer for a long time. I just didn't think it would really make a difference. And while I still don't see a massive change, I find myself using a lot less mascara initially as well as not needing touch ups during the day. I feel like this primer gives my lashes just a little more grip and a tiny bit of extra length to make my actual mascara go a lot further. My favorite mascaras to pair this with are the Voluminous Mascara and Voluminous Feline Mascara.
Voluminous Liner Noir Liquid Eyeliner || It's been a long time since I've tried out a felt-tip, brush type eyeliner. I'm usually more of a gel + angled brush girl, but this is actually super nice for when I'm in a hurry or don't feel like having the extra steps. The pigmentation is great, super dark, and the color holds all day. It's certainly not waterproof, but I haven't had trouble with it rubbing off or fading either.
Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Lip Colour in Jennifer's Pink and Julianne's Pink || If you're a regular around here, you've probably already seen me raving about this lip color in Jennifer's Pink. Swooooon! I love L'Oreal's lipstick formulas and these are no exception. Super pigmented, glide on smoothly, and not drying in the slightest. I love their flat but not matte finish and massive shade range. While I'm definitely calling Jennifer's Pink my favorite (and likely my go-to shade for the summer of 2017), Julianne's Pink is also super nice. It's a great light pink, perfect for spring that goes with just about any makeup look. If you have naturally darker pigmented lips, this one may not be for you as it is a little sheer, but I love that it's a lighter look that still works with my warm skin tone.
Here's what was just okay:
Infallible Sculpt Eyeliner || Ok, to be honest, I'm not even sure what's going on here. The ball shaped tip is definitely a new one on me and I'm really unsure how to go about using it. It's not something you're going to be able to get a lot of precision with and you're definitely going to struggle with that perfect wing, but the pigmentation is ah-mazing and the color is super rich. The staying power is right up there with the Voluminous Liner Noir, it's just the application that's strange. It seems a little gimmicky to me, but may be worth a shot if you don't opt for sharp cat eye looks or super precise lines.
La Palette Lip Nude || I wanted so badly to love this guy, but I think I just like it. There are several colors in here that look great, but the idea of contouring and highlighting my lips in addition to everything else is just overwhelming. Not all of the shades work with my skin tone, but there are quite a few stunners, so I'm looking forward to blending a few of these together to achieve totally new looks and hopefully make use of those shades which one their own won't work for me.
Colour Riche Pocket Palette in Violet Amour and Silver Couture || I love little quads, especially for travel, and these have a lot of great qualities! Super pigmented, soft and buttery texture, and lots of shades to choose from in the collection. I'm not a big purple or black smoky eye kinda girl but I am open to trying it out! I'm excited to hit YouTube for some fun tutorials to test these out in new looks, but for now I can share some swatches with you:
I think these shades of violet are totally wearable and not as intimidating as most purples can be. The silver and grey shades will be great to start out on really smoky looks since I'm still a little new to that. I have played around with both of these and found the colors to be very pigmented (a decent brush helps) and fairly long lasting (longer with a primer). A couple of the colors in each palette kicked up a little dust, but nothing crazy, and I felt they were fairly consistent from shade to shade in terms of texture and color payoff. I think I might need to go pink up a few more of these palettes in some of my go-to shades!
Thanks to L'Oreal for sending these products for me to try out! I'm excited to step out of my comfort zone with some of these new colors and really get into the art of eyeliner!
Do you have any tips on rocking any of these shades? What spring beauty trend are you most looking forward to? Let me know in the comments!
