Fave Five Friday

Hey guys! So I decided to start a new post: Fave Five Friday! I figured since I'm busy with Lucy most of the time, this would be a good way to start blogging more regularly! I don't want this to be strictly one genre of favorites, like beauty or fashion, so prepare for some random things! I have a lot of favorite things...let me share them with you!

1.) Downton, Freaking. Abbey. YOU GUYS...if you aren't watching this you are sadly deprived friends. I am obsessed. (Don't spoil season 5 for me; I haven't seen it yet!) Even my Grandmother watches and loves this show! Between the beautiful settings and the magnificent 1920's attire, this one will not disappoint. You can find seasons 1-4 here, or stream them for free with your Amazon Prime membership!

2.) I'm really in love with this ruffled top from Kohl's. I need to go back and get that pretty periwinkle shade, too. I just love how I can dress this up or down! It fits well and is flowy in the most flattering way.

3.) Ok, weird favorite, but Walmart has these giant flavored waters for just 69 cents! And they're delicious! I especially love this lemon flavor because I feel like I'm getting soda even though I'm not! They're perfect for my current "diet" (I'm trying to drink less sugary drinks to help slim down after baby! So far, so good...only 15lbs to pre-baby weight!).

4.) Alright, ya'll. How cute is this gold, sparkly Easter basket?! I mean it's gold. And sparkly. Lucy's first Easter is gonna be fabulous! I can't wait to show you what we get for her :)

5.) Another strange favorite, but bear with me...I'm soo excited for my Kentucky Road Trip in a couple of weeks! I'm going to stay with my family for a week! Preston is dropping me off and then coming back for me at Easter. We'll spend Easter there then head home. I'm just loving being able to plan and start packing -- it'll be our first big trip with little Lucy! I'm sure she'll do great. I can't wait to share my packing list and post-"vacation" plans with ya'll!

So, what are you loving this week?! Do you get as excited as I do about making packing lists? Haha!

My Makeup Essentials

Hi guys! I thought I'd share my current makeup essentials with ya'll :) I need to update a lot of things and find new products I love, but for now this is my everyday!

For my skin:

Bath & Body Works 24 Hour Ultra Shea Body Cream in A Thousand Wishes // My mama got me this lotion for Christmas and I love it! It smells amazing! I need to go get the rest of the trio (body mist and body wash) ASAP.

GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Treatment (1.2oz) and GlamGlow YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment (0.5oz) // I got these two as a set for like $60 at TJ Maxx last year and they are worth every penny! I'm obsessed with the SuperMud, and I really like the YouthMud as well (though it does tingle -- a lot!). They leave my skin feeling refreshed and super soft.

Viktor & Rolf FlowerBomb Perfume (1oz) // My sweet hubby gave me this for Christmas and I wear it almost every day! It's my favorite :) I also really like this and this.

For my face:

Revlon 24 Hour Colorstay Liquid Foundation for Normal to Dry Skin in 180 Sand Beige // This is my current foundation. I really like it but it's nothing like the whipped version. I switched to this one because I hate the whipped packaging. You can find my review of the liquid kind here.

Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder Foundation in 130 Buff Beige // I've been using this setting powder forever. It does it's job, stays put, etc. Nothing crazy to say about it. I'm hoping to try this kind next just for fun (which should be soon-- as you can see, I've clearly hit pan on this bad boy).

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny // Ok, so, supposedly this bronzer is the perfect shade for every skin tone...but it is a little too light/yellow-toned for me I think. It works well for everyday, so I like it, but if I ever go for a heavily contoured look this just will not cut it.

Covergirl Cheekers Blush // I've been using this blush since I first started wearing makeup (so, a looong time) and I've always enjoyed it. It's cheap and it works. But lately I've just grown tired of it. I'm in the market for a new formula-- something more pigmented and smooth I think. Leave your suggestions in the comments below! I have this blush in Pretty Peach and Classic Pink.

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer // This stuff is the bomb! I only use it on my nose/cheek area and under my eyes because it costs $5 and I'm stingy, haha. I use the Fit Me Concealer and it's my favorite, but it does settle in my fine lines under my eyes...but if I use the Baby Skin first, it works fine! This stuff is like gold, guys. It makes your whole face look airbrushed!

For my eyes:

Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Volum'Express Waterproof Mascara // I got this mascara when I ran out of my Maybelline Falsies Waterproof, and I like it okay. I think I'll go back to my Falsies when this runs out...my biggest problem with it was that it didn't seem to hold a curl at all! I also apply a layer of the Rimmel Lash Accelerator mascara. It's the only mascara that gives me enough length and it does wonders for my bottom lashes! It doesn't seem to come in waterproof, though :( (I use waterproof because my eyes are sensitive to regular when it runs) .

Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Gel Eyeliner // I really liked the idea of this eyeliner-- there's a brush in the lid! But the brush has started to fall apart on me recently, so I need to find a decent new one. As for the actual liner, it does great! It does smudge easily but if you leave it alone it's fine. I also like that it's waterproof but still washes off easily without having to scrub too hard.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Palette // You guys. This palette is the bomb. The shadows are buttery and well pigmented, and I love the color variety! There are plenty of neutrals (which I live for) but just enough colorful shadows to mix things up from time to time (like the burgundy, violet, and olive green) without looking tacky. As for a primer, I just use a dab of concealer and it seems to work just fine, but I do like the e.l.f. Studio Eyeshadow Primer (and it's only $3!).

For my lips:

Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color in Lust for Blush // I just got this lipstick the other day on the recommendation of one of my favorite beauty YouTubers, Jessica Murphy (JAMbeauty89)...and I love it! It's my favorite new everyday shade, it's buttery and smooth, and it smells deliciously like vanilla! My only con was after wearing it for awhile my lips did feel dry, but nothing a little balm can't cure :)

Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm // I love this balm for pre-lipstick application! I'm not a fan of lip liners unless I have to use them, so I prefer to use a balm as a sort of primer. This one is great because it doesn't soak in completely right away, so your lipstick has something to bind to like a nail polish base coat, I guess? A few other favorite balms of mine are Baby Lips, Softlips, and Eos. For medicated balm I always reach for Carmex.

For everything else:

e.l.f. Studio Powder Brush // I use this brush to apply my liquid foundation. It does great and is only $3! I'm planning on using a beauty blender to try a different look.

Estee Lauder Blush Brush // Ok, I've literally had this thing for years. I really need to replace it. I don't even know if it's still available, but here's a similar one.

e.l.f. Essential Bronzing Brush // I love this bronzing brush! Its angled edge makes it so easy to contour my cheeks and forehead.

e.l.f. Essential Blending Eyeshadow Brush // This is the best eyeshadow brush out of the three I always use. It blends beautifully and it's great for highlighting your brow bone and applying shadow all over your lid. I can't seem to find the exact brush anywhere, so the same thing in their Studio line is linked.

e.l.f. Essential Smudge Brush // I usually use this guy to fill in my brows, but I also use it to smudge under my eyes as well. It works great for both!

e.l.f. Essential Eye Crease Brush // I love this brush's dense bristles for packing on darker colors in my crease! It works perfectly!

What makeup is in your everyday routine? Any suggestions on new products I should try? Let me know if you want reviews of any individual products as well!

What's in My Diaper Bag? 0-3 Month Old Edition

Hey ya'll! Today I thought I'd take advantage of a decent nap time and do a What's In My Diaper Bag? Post :) Enjoy!

First, a little about the bag:

It's the Skip Hop Duo Special Edition in French Stripe. I love it because it's the perfect size -- not so big that it's like carrying around luggage, but not so small that I can't fit everything I need inside. I think it will work great as Lucy's on-the-go needs change, too. Plus, it's just adorable!

On the outside, the only thing I have is my little travel hand sanitizer. It's been a total necessity through flu season with a newborn!

Back Pocket:

This diaper bag came with the changing pad (can you believe some bags don't?!), and it is great! It's easily wiped off when dirty and not too thick so it doesn't take up too much space. I also carry this Skip Hop Grab & Go Wet/Dry Bag in Chevron for accident cleanup. It's inside is wipeable like the changing pad and is roomy enough for even toddler sized clothing (think, potty training). It has come in handy a few times already, and I love the mesh zipper on the outside for storing stain remover and wipes. I always keep my planner in this easily accessible pocket. I like to have it with me wherever I go just in case.

Front Left Pocket:

Basically a clean up pocket...Kleenex, Hand & Face Wipes, a spare hand sanitizer, and a Boogie Wipes sample. I got so many samples and trial sizes of things from the hospital and different baby registries, I don't know what to do with them all. I've given some away but I keep a lot in the diaper bag and it saves a ton of room! The babyganics samples are just there for lack of a better spot, haha.

Front Right Pocket:

This one is sort of my "Mommy Pocket". I also have a little pouch full of some essentials but we'll get to that later ;) In here, I keep my sunglasses, some hand cream and a pen (there are elastic pen holders in there, too). And apparently another package of Kleenex. At least I'm prepared.

Front Top Pocket:

This pocket is the zipper right next to the main compartment. It's about 6 inches deep, so I just use it to store some of Lucy's clothing necessities. I have a sleeper, a spare pair of socks and mittens, and a small hat. I also keep a nipple cream sample (though I rarely need it), some disposable nursing pads (definitely necessary!), and an extra pacifier tucked in here.

In the Main Compartment there are a couple of pouches:

Left Side Pouch:

These pouches I use for diaper changing needs. The left side holds a bunch of the diaper rash cream samples I've got piling up, a travel size lotion and baby powder, and a mini Aquaphor.

Right Side Pouch:

And then the basics...diapers and wipes! I swear by Pampers Swaddlers but I also like Pampers Sensitive. I really only use Huggies wipes. They don't make their travel boxes like this anymore (my Mom gave me this one), but they do have an adorable clutch option.

Main Compartment:

And finally, the main compartment! Since Lucy is still so small, I don't have much in here but open space! I think I'll put toys and snacks in here when the time comes. Until then, I just keep my wallet, Orla Kiely "Mommy Pouch", nursing cover, and a small receiving blanket inside.

Here's a closer look at my "Mommy Pouch":

I used to carry a ton of makeup with me, but I've found I don't really need it and it just takes up space, so in here I just take some essentials. A pen, hair tie and bobby pin (I have even more bobby pins in my wallet), a measuring tape (for shopping purposes; you'd be surprised how often it comes in handy), another hand sanitizer (can't be too safe), Baby Lips (my holy grail), blotting papers, panty liner, Wisp toothbrushes, Tic Tacs, perfume, a compact mirror, and a small medicine tin. Whew! The contents of this little pouch vary depending on the day, but for the most part, these are things I always keep with me :)

What do you guys keep in your purse/diaper bags? Am I missing anything?
