Happy October everyone! It's officially fall!

I feel like I just shared a Currently post for September, like yesterday. But in the same breadth, I visited my family in early September and it feels like so long ago. It's funny how months can go by so quickly and yet so slowly sometimes.

Anyway, here's what I've been up to "Currently"

Eating // I recently shared my recipe for Olive Garden Copycat Ravioli Di Portobello. That's been on massive repeat the last month or so. A few other meals I really enjoy in the fall are French Dip Sandwiches, Creamy Potato Soup, Crockpot Yankee Pot Roast, and the classic Tomato Soup + Grilled Cheese. Fall is the perfect season for creamy soups and comfort food. I love curling up with a bowl of St. Louis Bread Co.'s cheddar broccoli soup, too ;)

Exploring // Does frequenting the aisles of Target on a weekly basis count? Haha. There's not a lot of places here in the metro St. Louis area to really "explore" but we have a lot more weekend festivities (like pumpkin festivals and local craft fairs) planned for this season. I'm also putting together a list of lots of local restaurants (not chains!) that we've never been to and hope to cross them off once a month for our date nights!

Wearing // Fall is my absolute favorite time of year when it comes to fashion. As much as I love the brights of summer, I feel so much more comfortable in neutrals and jeans. And I can still wear dresses so it's a win/win! These are some of my favorite fall staples in my closet this year: cozy aztec wrap sweater, long cream cardigan, cozy brown cardigan, color block bodycon sweater dress, lightweight navy sweater, dark forest green sweater, cream casual beanie, classic chambray button down, buffalo plaid button down, chunky gold chain necklace, burgundy skinnies, solid black infinity scarf, dark berry lipstick, leopard infinity scarf, camel knee high boots, slouchy black ankle boots, classic nude pumps, Olivia + Joy handbag.

Admiring // October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month. I feel like everyone has been impacted by infant loss at least once in their life, whether it was a friend, family member, co-worker or themselves. I have several friends who have experienced infant loss, at both early stages and later than 20 weeks. No matter what stage in the pregnancy it happens, it is heartbreaking and unforgettable. My heart absolutely breaks for the women who have gone through this. My own mother suffered a miscarriage around 14 weeks when I was young and I still remember the sadness we all felt (and still feel) at the loss of our sibling. But I admire the strength that these women show. How they carry on with their lives and continue to mother their other children through it all. It's not easy and they're never forgotten, but these women are strong enough to push through and be there for their families, to be the mothers God intended them to be. I hope all you mamas with angel babies feel God's healing presence during this month of awareness and every day in between.
Collecting // I'm not much of a fact, I'm more of the opposite. I throw stuff away like it's going out of style. I can't stand clutter (yet my house still has plenty of it). The only things I've ever truly "collected" are these souvenir pennies. You've probably seen them in gift shops and sprinkled around different locales; you put a penny in the machine (along with the payment, usually around 50-cents) and turn the crank until a squashed, imprinted penny pops out. I've been collecting these since I was pretty young, though I'm not sure when I started. As of today, I have around 20 of them! They're a great, cheap souvenir if you're like me and don't like to pay $50 in the gift shop!

That's what I've been up to lately! What have you been eating/exploring/wearing/admiring/collecting? Do you take part in the Currently series? Share the link to your post in the comments; I'd love to check it out!
