December 2015 - Like Honey

A Christmas Recap!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I'm finally back from Kentucky, unpacked and settled into my normal schedule! The holidays can be so draining!

This year was Lucy's first Christmas and I think it was extra special for all of us. We had an early celebration with my in-laws since we were travelling for the actual holiday, which was a great start to the festivities! Then we were blessed to be able to visit with our close friends whom we hadn't seen in over a year! My heart was so full! After that it was Christmas eve/day with my family in Lexington, KY and another day to visit Preston's grandparents in Richmond. I have tons of photos to share, so I'll just start the spamming now:

**Klee Christmas**

Dress // Matilda Jane, old | Tights // Crazy 8, old

We got multiple stacking rings and teddies galore! She was in heaven! Grandpa put his new hat on her and she was pretty ok with it.

My handsome hubby getting some gifts.

**Visits from Sweet Friends**

I just love this sweet friend of mine! She has the greatest, biggest heart I've ever known and her girl's are such lucky daughters!

These guys are total goofballs, and their babies love it (though you can't always tell)!

All of our girls in their match-y milk & cookies PJs!

The sweetest little faces!

Always being silly with Daddy.

**Kentucky Christmas**

My parent's have a train set up under their tree and it was a huge hit with the kiddos.

It finally slowed down enough for Lucy to get a closer look.

My sister just loves Preston! It's so sweet.

The church has several beautiful nativities set up; a perfect photo op ;)

And we couldn't skip one in front of the tree!

Or skip one of just the two of us ;)

She loved all of my mom's Santa figurines! They're a Christmas tradition in the Story household and always will be.

Girls' "Gnome for the Holidays" PJ's // Gymboree, out of stock

My mom surprised us all with these cute and hilarious elf pajamas she had squirreled away for the occasion! They were a hit and the girl's had adorable matching PJs to boot!

Too much fun to handle!

Always milk and cookies. Always.

Lucy enjoyed them, too. Don't worry there were plenty left for Santa ;)

Late night tree pic! Finally all set up for the morning!

She was so excited to see this Rudolph plush again! We found it at Target a while back and she loved it, but it was so close to Christmas that I thought I should save it. I'm so glad she still loved it so much!

Lots of goodies for everyone! It was earlier than Lucy's usual wake time, so she wasn't really interested in opening presents on her own.

Pom Pom Hat/Gloves set // Target, exact

A new hat/gloves! Hopefully winter actually arrives here in the Midwest so we get a chance to use them!

My pajama pants: Victoria's Secret Fireside Long Jane's // Victoria's Secret, exact style (patterns vary)

The best part of this Christmas was showing my little girl all her new gifts. She doesn't seem excited here but she was loving it after a little more sleep ;)

Fisher Price Bright Beats Smart Touch Play Space // Target, exact
Someone was super excited about her new toy!

My sleepy husband was not ready for gift giving.

Vera Bradley Zip ID Case in Ziggy Zags // Vera Bradley, exact
Exciting gifts from my mama!

Infant UK Onesie // Kentucky Korner, exact (P.S. Lexington loves: Kentucky Korner is the BEST place to stock up on affordable UK gear! They have cute, great quality stuff for a fraction of the price of other retailers. Their selection of athletic name brands is slim, though--mostly fan gear.)

Baby Parker even got his first UK onesie! So excited for him to sport this during the 2016-2017 season! #GoBigBlue (please ignore my morning appearance. not glamorous.)

V-Tech Sit to Stand Walker // Target, exact
Not sure what she's thinking of Nana's gift, haha!

Tassel Clutch // Target, exact
Preston got me the clutch I'd had my eye on at Target! I'm so excited to finally have a mommy section to the diaper bag I'm carrying. It's a nice alternative when you're not really able to shop for handbags anymore.

A new french press (because I broke the previous one. oops!)

Drumroll.....the Story Christmas Gift was finally revealed! A monogrammed cornhole set! I was so excited to give it to them after a month of cutting, drilling, sanding, painting, etc. and I'm so glad they loved it!

UK Spirit Shirt // Kentucky Branded
My mom and oldest younger sister all got matching spirit shirts! I am obsessed with mine! Thanks, mama!

Antler headband // Target dollar spot
My sleepy little reindeer.

Many naps were taken by all on Christmas day. It's exhausting! I absolutely love the picture of Lucy snoozing with her Pops (my dad). So sweet!

**Visiting Great Grandparents in Richmond**

She was clinging to her Daddy all morning. She loves him so much!

Enjoying a yummy brunch at Bob Evans.

She loves her Great Grandpa!

Under Armour tee // Belk, exact
And Great Grandma, too! She even got kisses!

We had such a fun-filled, blessed Christmas with so much family and friends! I hope you enjoyed your holiday as much as I did and have an amazing 2016!

Merry Christmas!

It's been a busy busy week with friends, family and fun so I apologize for being absent from the blog! Today is Christmas so I'm skipping Fave Five Friday until next week. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior and the promise of salvation He brings!

Merry Christmas, ya'll!

Emerald + Plaid Blanket Scarf

Don't mind my crazy dog!

This is one of my favorite colors to wear with this plaid blanket scarf. I love emerald green (it makes my green eyes pop) and this sweater is a favorite, too.

There's actually a neat story behind this sweater...when I was pregnant with Lucy and working at Crazy8, I struck up a conversation with a customer as I was ringing up her purchase. We were discussing pregnancy and the ridiculous price of maternity clothes when she said, "You know, I have a several boxes in my car of maternity clothes that I was about to get rid of. Do you want to just take them for me?" I said, sure, why not? Can't hurt to try and find some goodies and if nothing works I'll just donate them as she was about to. So an hour later she comes back up to the store with 3 huge cardboard boxes of clothes! After getting them home, I realize that at least half of the things inside are my size and a lot of the rest worked for my best friend. Not only did they fit, they were all really nice, mostly Gap, Old Navy and Liz Lange for Target!

This sweet woman doesn't know what a blessing she was to me at that time. We really had no money and we knew I was going to stay home when I had Lucy. Not having to buy many maternity clothes was such a help on our finances at the time and I still have all of those clothes to use with Parker! So, kind lady, if you're reading this post: THANK YOU!
