Fave Five Friday | Fun at the Fair

Hey y'all!

This week was pretty uneventful after a busy weekend, and sometimes that's the very best. Here's what my weekend consisted of:

5.) Last Friday, my MOPS group held our end of the year party. It was fun playing Family Feud, Glow in the Dark "beer pong" (it was water), and Neon Twister with so many fun ladies! Parker even got in on the festivities ;)

Lip Color: L'Oreal Infallible Le Rouge 10hr in Enduring Berry
4.) On Sunday we hit up the local fair with some good friends. It was so fun we actually ended up forgetting the time and missed the MOPS picnic I was planning to go to. Oops!

 P.S. Want to follow along on Snapchat? Add me! @faithfashblog

3.) Lucy and I were twinning in Lilly at the fair :) I love matching with my girl! You can tell she had a good time by the snow cone stain around her mouth and tired look on her face ;)

 Little man got in on the summer style with this "bro tank" romper as my sister calls it. I love it on him, and it was a great pick for the near 90 degree heat we had that day!

2.) I'm super excited about these pretty pieces I got at Charming Charlie the other day! I know I'm not the only one that loves tassels, especially when they're BOGO free!

1.) Friendly Reminder: Don't miss out on Nordstrom's Half Yearly sale going on now! I would love to get my hands on a few things, but buying a house is expensive and priorities, ya know? Someone go get some good deals for me!

Now I'm off to pack bags and load up the car, because we're heading to Kentucky today! I'm so excited to see my family and introduce them to their new nephew! Also, Memorial Day looks like it will consist of lots of yummy southern BBQ, ice cream, and maybe even some swimming!

Happy Friday!

Saving Money with Groupon Coupons

This post has been sponsored by Groupon Coupons.
All opinions are my own.
#GrouponCoupons

[yep, that's my hugely cracked iPhone. #toddlers]
When I got pregnant with Lucy, we knew immediately that I was going to stay home with her. With that in mind, we knew we had to start finding more ways to save.

Flash forward to today: one income, two kids under two, and purchasing our first home...sticking to a budget is more important than ever and I hardly have the time to write out a grocery list, let alone scan the newspaper ads for deals.

Groupon is not just for travel and locales anymore. With the click of a button, you can now save at almost any store, online or on the go!

Some of my favorite places to save with Groupon Coupons?:

and of course, Carter's for my babies ;)

I love that even if I forget to look for deals ahead of time, I can easily check my phone for a coupon for just about anywhere all while standing in the checkout line. And there's always more than one to choose from! This mama is one happy shopper!

Check out Groupon's Twitter and Facebook or download the app to learn more about how you can save on your next shopping trip!

Fave Five Friday | Good News

Hello Friday!

I am so ready for the weekend to be here at last! It has been a looong week of being mostly stuck in the house--because who wants to drag two babies out for an errand on a good day, much less in the rain?

But while the weather has been crummy, the week as a whole was pretty okay. Here are some highlights:

5.) I'm still enjoying my beautiful Mother's Day flowers from Preston :) They make a pretty kitchen table arrangement, but my favorite part is the flood of love I feel for that hubby of mine when I see them. He should bring me flowers more often ;)

{source}
4.) Did you see yesterday's Pinteresting post? It was all about my favorite House & Home pins, because, good news!: We are finally under contract on a home! Woo hoo!

A photo posted by Mariah (@faithandfashionblog) on

3.) Some days your hair does exactly what you want it to, and it just has to be documented. Definitely a highlight this week.

2.) I finally received my Bloom Voxbox in the mail! There were lots of great beauty products in there this round, so be sure to check out my full unboxing and reviews HERE!

1.) I really only have four this week, so here is a picture of a sweet sleeping baby. He just melts my heart!

I'm off to supervise a building inspection on our soon-to-be home! Assuming the inspection goes well, anyway! Prayers are always appreciated...I really don't want to keep hunting!

Happy Weekend!

Pinteresting | House & Home

We're Under Contract!!!

Most of you have probably been following along with my house hunting woes for the past few months--but we finally found a home and had our offer accepted!

If you don't know what the housing market is like right now, let me enlighten you. We submitted offers on close to 10 different homes, receiving no's for every single one until now! It's crazy how quickly homes under $200,000 are flying right now...I think just about every home we looked at was under contract within 24-48 hours! Insane!

I just wish I was on the selling side of it right now! ;)

So in light of this exciting news, I thought I'd share some of my latest "House & Home" pins from Pinterest with y'all! Some of them I may even be planning to put to use in our new home:

{source}
I have been planning to paint my front door regardless of where we moved for ages now, and I think with the home we are (hopefully!) getting, navy will do just the trick! Navy is one of my favorite colors and this bright yellow forsythia door hanging is such a happy addition!

{source}
This living room is what my mid century modern dreams are made of! I love all of the shades of blue and the pops of rusty orange thrown in.

{source}
I never got the chance to really do much of a real nursery for Lucy, so right now I am torn between making her a nursery in our new home or just going for something that can be transitioned into a big girl room easily. I'll probably go with the big girl room idea (money saver), but either way I go this elegant pink and gold theme is high on the list of ideas. Right up there with Lilly Pulitzer. Decisions decisions!

{source}
 As for Parker James, he will be getting a nursery since he is so little at the start. I have an idea in my head of what I want, but I really can't fully describe it. It's sort of preppy, southern gentlemen theme with some vintage thrown in. Make sense? I'm absolutely in love with this gorgeous card catalog cabinet! The horse lamp on top reminds me of Kentucky, so there may be some equestrian pieces thrown into his nursery as well ;)

{source}
Any other Fixer Upper fans out there? I would love to visit Joanna's shop in person, but until my next trip to Texas, the online shop will have to do. This pretty wooden sign is such a great reminder and I think it would look great in the foyer--the entry seems appropriate for this phrase, doesn't it?

{source}
Now as much as I'd love my deck to look like this, it doesn't. But the stain here is such a beautiful color, I pinned it for inspiration! Such a lovely entertaining space!

{original source}
One of the downsides to the home we are trying to purchase is the lack of pantry, and general kitchen space if I'm honest. Thankfully there are some crazy clever hacks out there,and this is one of them I just had to share. Use dollar store dish racks to neatly store items in that tiny square cabinet above the fridge or microwave! This blogger stored her baking sheets there, but I think I would rather use that space for things like pot and pan lids, things I don't use as often since I'm short and don't like to reach up that high ;)

{source}
I'm getting excited about all the new rooms I'll have to decorate soon and the bathrooms aren't getting neglected. I love this yellow and navy color scheme! (Sensing a theme in color schemes yet?)

{original source}
What a gorgeous laundry update! I absolutely adore the idea of a bold patterned wallpaper behind the appliances! I think I may have to hold onto this idea for future reference. Love!

Happy Thursday!

Fave Five Friday | Mother's Day Recap

It's Friday again! This week felt like it just flew by. I'll jump right into some highlights and goings-on for the week:

5.) Last weekend was Mother's Day, and I was lucky enough to have my mama and littlest sister staying with me at the time. It was nice to spend the day with her. We went shopping and indulged ourselves in some yummy Olive Garden (complete with my favorite glass of wine!) for dinner.

4.) And because it was Mother's Day, my church held their group baby dedication this past Sunday. I'm so glad to be part of a church family that lifts its children up to God in this way, and even more blessed to have friends and family that support us.

3.) Can we also take a moment to appreciate the adorableness of these two kiddos' outfits? My heart!

2.) It was pretty quiet here on the blog, but I did get one post up! I shared all my tips and tricks for making the most of your grocery budget in a How I Save Money on Groceries post! I hope you'll check it out!

1.) Besides Mother's Day, this week was fairly uneventful. But I have felt crazy busy, just taking care of two kids. I thought I would have it somewhat easy during the newborn stage because newborns sleep so much....ha. While Parker does sleep, he just really fights it. And on top of that, he loooves to be held. He won't stay in any swing/bouncer/rock-n-play/etc for more than like 30 minutes. He's been this way since day one, so no he isn't spoiled. I know I should be cherishing these moments because he'll only be this little and want to be held for a short time, but dang, it's hard to get stuff done!

So now it's Friday and time for the weekend! We're doing a little more house hunting, and I'm hoping for a little trip to the zoo since the weather looks sunny and warm!

What does your weekend look like?

How I Save Money On Groceries

{original image source}
I don't know about you, but I have such a hard time spending money on groceries. They just seem to be getting more and more expensive! It's not easy to see your money disappear for something that only lasts a little while, so I thought I'd share with you how I save the most money possible on groceries for my little family!

Meal Planning

{source}

I wrote a whole post on How I Meal Plan that you can find HERE. It is one of the biggest and best ways to save money on groceries. It allows me to only buy the exact ingredients I need for the week and nothing more. Yes, I buy some extras, but for the most part, by limiting myself to only what I need, I save myself those frequent trips back to the store, thus saving money!

Aldi

{source}
Aldi is my favorite grocery store of all time! By sticking to private labels, minimalistic packaging, and a "bag  your own groceries" policy, Aldi is able to immensely cut down the prices of their items while still providing efficient customer service and quality products. There are very few things that I won't buy at Aldi. Their generic products are often made in the same factory as the brand name contender but with a different label slapped on it. Did you know they are the sister company to Trader Joe's? What's not to love?!

Store Apps

There's literally an app for everything these days, and I am not complaining! Many grocery stores are now jumping on the app train, including Target's Cartwheel and Walmart's Savings Catcher. Let me break these down for you:

Cartwheel
Fill your unique barcode with any of the deals you see and like. Scan the barcode at the register. Save! It's so so simple! If you're in a hurry and don't have time to browse the deals, just scan your items before checkout and it will tell you if there is a deal available for that item. The more you save, the more spots you earn to add to your barcode.

See my full post on How To Save TONS of Money at Target HERE.

Savings Catcher
Walmart is generally one of those one-stop shops and while it's really my least favorite place to get groceries, their Savings Catcher app makes it a little easier to bear. Simply purchase what you want at Walmart and scan the QR code at the bottom of your receipt onto the app.
 It will cross match it with tons of other stores in your area to find comparable deals and if something you bought at Walmart is cheaper at say, Dollar Tree, they'll send you the difference in the form of a Walmart gift card! I have used this on several occasions when I've known an item was cheaper somewhere else, but didn't want to make a separate trip. It's a great way to earn money you didn't even know you were missing!

Paper Coupons
{source}
Some people hate clipping coupons. I have never minded it. If something that takes me 10 seconds to cut out will save me $1.00 on something I already need, why not, right? I'm no extreme couponer, but I do take advantage of coupons when I have them. I usually find them in magazines, newspaper fillers like Red Plum, and attached to products I've already purchased.

Target sometimes pops them out with your receipt and you can use those in conjunction with Manufacturer's coupons (and your Cartwheel app + RedCard for maximum savings!).

You can also utilize websites like Coupons.com to select and print off coupons right from the couch! I use this frequently for savings on things like diapers, wipes, dog food and other household items and toiletries.

Store Ads

{source}
You know all of those mailers in your weekly newspaper? Don't throw those away! Always flip through them to see what's on sale. Usually the first few pages of each mailer have the biggest deals and doorbusters, and it can save you lots just by taking the extra time to scan them. My local stores always post their current ads on their websites as well, so you can always check your favorite shops to see what's on sale before heading out.

Ibotta

So I only recently jumped on this little bandwagon and I am so glad that I did! This is a rebate app, but don't be intimidated! It's so easy to use and in about a month I earned $20 back on groceries I
already buy! Simply add the rebates you want to redeem, buy the products at the store, scan your item and your receipt into the app, and bingo! You've got a rebate waiting to be transferred to you via Paypal or a gift card of your choice! How easy is that?!

**Use this referral code to receive $10 just for signing up!:**

Sometimes it takes a little extra work, but it's so worth it to save big on groceries every month! I love finding deals and stacking savings whenever possible, even if it requires a few extra minutes of my time.

What do you do to save money on groceries? I hope these tips are helpful for you!
