Shake Your Booties! | 8 Ankle Boots You NEED This Fall (All Under $50!)

It's been a long week of sniffles and coughs over here, y'all. This sickness is making me long for cold weather even more. Too much couch snuggling and cozy clothes, I guess. It's been far too warm outside for me to actually break out any fall pieces long term, but I am always looking for new outfits to wear my favorite ankle boots with so I can sneak in a little bit of autumn wherever possible.

Today, I'm rounding up 10 of my favorite booties to share with you to get you into the fall spirit (as if you even needed my help):

I'm in the market for a new pair of black booties this fall and I'm really loving this zippered pair. I recently scored some gorgeous taupe booties at TJ Maxx and they are already on HIGH repeat! I think it's my mission to grab a pair in every shade possible.

How to Style a Summer Dress for Fall + Mom Style Monday Link Up!

*This post has been sponsored by PinkBlush and contains affiliate links. Thanks for supporting Like Honey!*

Welcome to Mom Style Monday, a monthly link party where my fellow stylish mamas and I share our favorite outfits and trends! There's a new theme every month, so be sure to join in next month with your own Mom Style! This month we're sharing our favorite fall transition outfits!

The summer temps are still hanging around but fall feels are right around the corner. Here in the Midwest the weather changes from one day to the next, so it's not possible to box up all of my tanks and swimsuits until there's literally snow on the ground (and sometimes not even then)! Living in such a crazy climate has really taught me how to make my summer wardrobe stretch into the cooler months and work with the fluctuating temps!

One of the easiest ways to make a summer dress feel ready for fall is to choose a dark or neutral hue. Your crisp, white eyelet sundresses are just not made for autumn. This black cold shoulder dress from PinkBlush is the perfect summer to fall transition outfit because not only is it a super versatile black, but it's also made of a super soft material that's cozy yet breathable! I paired it with my favorite taupe booties and a matching felt hat to bring in more of those fall textures and hues.

I love getting the most bang for my buck by making my wardrobe work across multiple seasons! I even still wear many of my old maternity items! It's so fun to really wear out your clothes instead of letting them take up space in storage!

DIY Homemade Crustless PB & J

Who else has a toddler that likes to be arbitrarily picky?! I never know what she's going to request (it's almost never what I make...*eyeroll*), so I like to have some quick and premade options on hand. One of our favorites is the frozen crustless PB&J sandwiches, Uncrustables.

Those Smucker's are expensive, though! (See what I did there?) When you've got two kids chowing down at least once a day, you've got to come up with a more cost-effective solution. So I got a little crafty, whipped out my trusty drinking glasses, and went to work. Here's how I make and freeze my own "Uncrustables" for literally pennies!

Smoother than a fresh jar of Skippy Peanut Delight...because Aldi prices.
To start off, you'll need a loaf of bread, jelly, and peanut butter. If you have an actual sandwich sealer that's even better, but I didn't feel like spending the money on one when I had these perfectly round little drinking glasses that did the job just fine!

I like to arrange myself a sort of assembly line to speed up the process. It works double because you'll need the cookie sheet in a few. Make sure you only spread the condiments around the very center of each slice--the rest of the bread gets cut off in the crust removal process and you don't want jelly seeping out of the sides of your sammies!

Did you find yourself a sturdy round glass? Center that bad boy up and smoosh it down onto the bread like so. Then just peel away the excess bread (do this while the sandwich is STILL in the cup!) and pluck your perfect little Uncrustable out of that cup. Got it stuck? Give you glass a few shakes like the last drop in the ketchup bottle and it should break free.

If you're not freezing any, then that's it! Great job!

If you want to prep some meals ahead or just save yourself some noontime sanity later in the week, read on to see how to correctly freeze and store your freshly made sammies.

Here's where that cookie sheet came in extra handy! Just line up all of your crust-free PB & J's and pop them in the freezer for about 20 minutes. This will allow them to flash freeze and keep them from sticking together in the freezing process. I lined my sheet with wax paper just to be safe.

When they're nice and solid, just slide them into a labeled and dated freezer bag and you're good to go!

These crustless PB & J's make great picnic take-alongs, school lunches, and even snacks! My kiddos aren't school-aged yet, but when they are, I'll definitely have these budget friendly bites on hand at all times!

Cost Breakdown:

Aldi PB, 7 cents per serving
Welch's Jelly, 6 cents per serving
Aldi White Bread, 4 cents per slice

That makes each of these sandwiches around 21 cents! That's less than a QUARTER! Talk about a budget-friendly meal. Feel bad losing all of that extra bread? Save the discarded crusts for bread puddings, homemade croutons, breadcrumbs, or just go feed the local ducks. There's no need to waste!

Utility Jacket + Red Stripes

I picked up this amazing striped terry dress from J.Crew Factory a while back and I'm so excited to break it out this fall. It's the prettiest shade of warm red stripes (which will also be perfect next spring when nautical vibes come back around) and the material is a super soft sweatshirt feel which makes it ridiculously comfy! I paired it with simple gold + pearl pieces but had to add my staple utility jacket for a punch of fall. I love the olive + red together. This jacket is such a wardrobe must have and I'm so glad I finally jumped on the bandwagon this year!

Neutral Fall Layers + The BEST Birthday Gift!

*This post contains affiliate links.*

Happy Hump Day, y'all! Today I turn 23 and this Michael Kors bag was the perfect early birthday gift to celebrate! My husband knew I'd been wanting a new MK bag to replace my old one that broke earlier this year and he picked a great one! This beauty is going to go with everything this fall and the larger size is perfect for mom-ing on the go. I use the center pocket to hold diapers and wipes and keep my stuff on either side. It's so roomy!

I'm also loving this cardigan again this year. I snagged it for around $20 at Kohl's on Black Friday last year, but this year there is a super similar one at Nordstrom. I promise it's worth every penny and goes with sooo much. I love mine because it's so soft and cozy (and a little bit stretchy)!

Do you wear white after labor day? Labor Day is only a few weeks away and I am not about to put any of my white pieces in storage! I love how this white on white look easily transitions to fall with a cozy cardi and neutral accessories. White jeans are actually one of my favorite winter closet staples. I pair them with OTK and riding boots, booties + blanket scarves, and dark hued sweaters.

What's your go-to fall layering look? I love flannels under sweaters (but hate wearing them that way!) and cardigans over tanks!

My Summer Sundress Skincare Must-Have

*This post has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and AcneFree. All opinions are mine alone. #AcneFreeSummer #AcneFreeLife #CollectiveBias*

As a young, millennial mom, breakouts have become a regular battle. The season for off the shoulder and backless trends is in full swing and no one wants to slip into a new dress only to discover a breakout underway along their back or shoulders. Thankfully, I've started a new skincare routine with AcneFree that's keeping my shoulders sleek and ready for any strapless number. Click the photo below to see more and shop:

There is so much to choose from nowadays in the skincare market. Searching for new products can be overwhelming, so I love that AcneFree provides a daily treatment kit. There's no guesswork and no questions--just three simple steps to better skin! I just browsed through a few products on Amazon and found exactly what I needed--plus my Prime membership meant free 2-day shipping! I grabbed the AcneFree Sensitive Skin 24 Hour Acne Clearing System since my skin can be prone to irritation and haven't had any issues! This system seems to work better than other acne clearing systems I've tried because of the micro-sized benzoyl peroxide. This smaller size allows it to penetrate deeper into pore more quickly without being harsh to delicate facial skin.

The 24 Hour kit includes 3 products: Corrective Acne Cleanser, Alcohol-Free Toner, and Hydrating Acne Repair Lotion + Spot Treatment. I love that I can use all of these on my chest and back as well, because I always dread those sudden shoulder breakouts that happen during the summer. I'm loving all the backless and strapless trends right now, so having a product that works doubletime really pays off for me. The repair lotion also doubles as a spot treatment which is perfect for keeping those pesky hormonal breakouts under control.

I also picked up this AcneFree Body Clearing Spray for those hard to reach spots along my back. It allows you to spray at any angle so you can fight those lower back acne battles easily. I think this would be a great product to keep in your gym bag or locker this coming school year to keep any sweat-induced breakouts at bay!

It's important to me to keep my skin looking its best, especially during a season when breakouts are rampant and styles are more revealing. With school starting up again soon, I know some of you may be thinking of picture day and upcoming dances, so what better way to prepare than with $1,000 AND your own AcneFree products for a year?!
