Cobalt & Coral

Dress: old TJ Maxx, similar here ($60) and here ($30) // Heels: old Target, similar here // Gold Earrings: Target (only $13!) // Sunglasses: TJ Maxx, similar here // Bracelet: Rocksbox

Hey hey, Friday! It's almost Fourth of July and it's almost the weekend, so I'm celebrating with a fun and festive date night-ready look to kick off the Independence Day festivities! I love that this outfit is patriotic without being cheesy--you could totally rock this entire look for any summer night out, swap heels for flats for a more day appropriate look, or try nude heels and a colorful earring to switch it up!

Some of my favorite colors to pair with this bright cobalt blue are hot pink, mustard yellow, true red, aqua blue, and lime green. The options for this dress are really endless! It's old from TJ Maxx but I found several similar options that are just as fun and bold!

Do you have any Fourth of July traditions you're looking forward to? I love how every year my kids get a little more excited and little more interested in celebrating holidays! We've got the local parade, carnival, and fireworks display on our bucket list but I'm thinking about adding a fun picnic if it's not too hot! If you have any other tradition ideas let me know in the comments! I am always open to new ways to celebrate!

Super Easy Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos

In honor of Taco Tuesday and the fact that it's officially summer, I'm breaking out my crockpot to share a simple summer recipe that I love: Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos! This recipe was a total hit at Parker's Taco TWOsday Birthday Party and is on frequent rotation at our house. Scroll down to see the full recipe.

I love this recipe for so many reasons--it requires hardly any ingredients, it's cheap, it doesn't require an oven in this summer heat, and it's incredibly versatile; I love using leftovers on tortilla chips for quick and easy nachos, baking or frying the "tacos" to make taquitos, or just including it alongside regular taco meat in a yummy taco bar! There are so many options and you can dress it up with any taco toppings you like!

Feel free to pin or print this recipe for your next Taco Tuesday or Mexican Monday fiesta! How will you dish up your chicken tacos?

Happy Friday, friends! It's been a hot minute since I got an actual blog post up (Instagram is so much easier when we're busy: follow me @likehoneyblog), so I'll plan for a little life update soon! I had to get this post up for you today though because my maxi has been restocked! It was wildly popular and no wonder--it's the perfect summer dress! I love the breezy, lightweight material and tiered hemline. I don't own a lot of maxis and find them to be long on my 5'3" frame, but this one is a perfect fit!

And let's talk about how cute this matching toddler dress is! Lucy loves wearing matchy-matchy looks with me; we don't do it often enough! She gets so excited when we break out the mommy and me looks and says "Mama we're a match!" ❤️ Being a girl mom is so fun, and I'm soaking all of this up while she'll still allow it!

Here's a closer look at the maxi dress! It's ultra flowy, fully lined, and very lightweight. The only complaint I have is that the fabric is a little scratchy at times but fabric softener seems to help some. I love the straps are adjustable and the back is smocked, making it stretch a bit for added comfort.

Anyone else feel like making a trip to Florida when they see this print? Fun fact: My family lived in Fort Myers for about a year (I was there for about 2 months before I got married) and we got to see a lot of cool attractions during our time there! I want to go back with my kids and wear this dress to Sun Harvest Citrus for pictures with the giant orange! Ha!

Dress this maxi down with sandals and sunnies or make it date night ready with wedges and a killer statement earring. I'm thinking I need a date night al fresco, soon!

Are you making big plans for the weekend? We're putting in a new patio door and heading to some nurseries to price shrubs for future landscaping projects! Can't wait to share the results with you!
