Busy-Mom Guilt: How to Handle Snack Time On the Go - Like Honey

Busy-Mom Guilt: How to Handle Snack Time On the Go

I don't know about you, but we always seem to be a lot busier this time of year. Between pumpkin patches, fall festivals, beautiful weather, and the beginning of another year of activities and school functions, our schedules can be pretty hectic and I can be pretty stressed. Since I know I'm not the only one facing the business of the holiday season, I thought I'd share a few of my favorite items to have with me when snack-time rolls around while we're out and about, including how Happy Family helps me deal with the mom guilt that sometimes comes with a busy lifestyle:

NO-FAIL SNACKS

Being out and about so frequently means sneaking in meals and snacks whenever and wherever we can--which sometimes makes it hard for me to gauge how much my kids are really eating. When we pack our snacks for the day, we love the HappyTot Super Smart Cookies! The kids love feeling like they're getting a sweet treat and I feel better knowing they're getting a nutrient-packed pick-me-up and the resealable package makes it perfect to take along just about anywhere! Lucy has gotten so picky lately and Parker just follows suit, so having snacks that are delicious and healthy eases a lot of the mom guilt that surrounds kids and snacking. It's all about balance!

I noticed recently that they go through phases: one day they eat non stop and the next they eat next to nothing at all! After struggling to breastfeed for the first several months of their life and switching to formula, feeding is a big issue for me. I want to be sure they're getting all the nutrients their little bodies need but their picky eating habits can really throw me for a loop. Thankfully, Happy Family has a new support system called Happy Mama Mentor where you can live chat with a team of lactation consultants and Cornell-Certified nutritionists (all moms!) to help alleviate some of that mom guilt and anxiety that surrounds feeding our babies. The chat line is open Mon-Fri 8am-8pm (EST) and Sat-Sun 8am-4pm (EST) and easily accessible from your mobile phone, so you can get your questions answered in real time, no matter where you are! As you can see, I decided to bring up my concerns with their yo-yoing appetites while we were visiting the pumpkin patch the other day and received a kind and friendly response in minutes! It feels so good to know a certified consultant and fellow mom knows just what I'm going through and can help!

ANTIBACTERIAL WIPES AND SPRAY

Holiday season = germ season y'all. We get our flu shots and never leave the house without a few anti-bacterial products. Whether you opt for a gel or a wipe, it's always good to know you have options when there isn't soap and water around!

TRASH BAGS

Okay, kind of silly, but you just never know when you're going to have a dirty diaper or a messy spill and have no trash can in sight! Trash bags are a must for travelling mamas--you can just use a leftover grocery bag, too!

LIGHT BLANKET

Are my kids the only ones that complain of being cold all the time? We keep this lightweight receiving blanket in our car at all times and I can't tell you how many times it's come in handy when someone started the shivers or just for impromptu picnics!

Do you have any on the go must haves for the busy fall season? I am so glad I can count on the HappyTot Super Smart Cookies to fill my babies' bellies and keep them comfortable and happy, plus the Happy Mama Mentor chat to keep my own mind at ease while we make it through this busy season of life! Do you have a question or concern about your child's feeding habits? Why don't you give the Happy Family Support Platform a try today?

  4. I am so picky about snacks for my daughter but have found a couple great options from Happy Tot. Even though I hate having to offer something highly processed, it is convenient to have something resealable in your bag because if the toddler is hungry then nobody is happy!
