Transitional Sundress for Fall

It's finally pumpkin season, even if it doesn't feel like it. I found this Nietzsche quote quite fitting for the current weather/season situation:

"I notice that autumn is more the season of the soul than of nature."

Even though we're fighting soaring temps and humidity levels, I'm still ready for the fall season with muted tones of earthy greens and rich tans. I bought this dress simply because I love the color and it was comfortable, but it has come in so handy transitioning my wardrobe to a more autumnal palette without being too heavy.

I had the opportunity to visit Eckert's Orchard in Versailles, KY a few weekends ago and couldn't resist a few quick snaps in the blossoming pumpkin patch. I'm not counting this as our official yearly pumpkin patch visit, not that I ever limit our trips to just one per year, but it was a really nice sneak peek to my favorite season that really boosted my mood. Everyone talks about seasonal effective disorder when it comes to drab winter weather, but I truly believe I get a few symptoms during those last weeks of summer, when I'm yearning for a cozier atmosphere but can't beat that dreadful heat.

I'm looking forward to a new season full of lots of changes that I can't wait to share with you all soon. I've been a little MIA around here lately but I promise it's for a good reason and really hope to have good news to share in the coming weeks! I'm mostly looking forward to the comfort of family time that comes with Thanksgiving and the Christmas holiday season. What about you?
