Hello, it's me with another beret outfit. I promise I'll switch to straw hats again in the spring! For now, it's still cold so I'm wearing as many sweaters as possible while I still can and breaking out these adorable plaid pants that I picked up on clearance at LOFT over last summer. I've been dying to wear them and this simple black sweater was the perfect, easy outfit for a crisp midwinter day.

I'll be honest, at first I didn't want to share this outfit with y'all. I've always had thicker thighs and plenty of curves, but the more I thought about it the more I wanted to share the pictures. I'm far from "big" and wear a very average US size 6-8 but of course we are our own worst critics. I'm stepping out of my comfort zone and sharing this look with you, not to make a statement or become a body-positivity poster child, but to teach myself that it doesn't matter if my butt looks a little big in one picture or I have a little roll in another. I loved this outfit and felt so confident while wearing it, so I'm going to share it!

We've all had a photo turn out not exactly as we'd hoped even though we loved the memory or the outfit or the other people in the frame. Today, I'm challenging you to share the photo! Despite the double-chin, mid laughter, despite the tummy rolls sitting with your baby in your lap...share the photo! Share the memories and the things that make you happy because one day when you're gone someone will look back and remember that day, that moment, with you and they won't even notice the flaws that almost stopped you from posting it in the first place.

Rose Sweater Dress

OUTFIT DETAILS

With Valentine's Day upon us, I couldn't think of a better sweater dress to share with you all! Chicwish sent me yet another stunning dress that's perfect for perking up your wardrobe during this bleak midwinter. They have some of the most stunning pieces for every season, but I'm loving the winter options to keep my closet from feeling stale and boring this time of year.

I was particularly excited to snag this dress as it's very similar to a designer option but for a fraction of the price. It did come with a tie waist which I removed since I felt it distracted from my favorite part of this dress: the neck tie! It's actually a button that does not need to be tied or adjusted in any way, but still makes such a cute statement! I paired it with a delicate pearl headband and blush/neutral accessories, but I love wearing it with brown tights and a beret to keep extra warm.

This was the first time in a while that I've gone all out with my eye shadow and it was fun to play with some tried-and-true favorites I'd been neglecting. I always lean towards neutrals and warm tones, so it was easy to pair a mauve sweater dress with a pinkish shadow look. I'll be dishing all the details on this entire makeup look soon, so be sure to stick around! I'm a big fan of affordable makeup, so I know this look will be totally doable no matter what your budget may be.

If you're on the shorter side like me, this dress is a perfect length--not too short, not too long. The slightly puffed sleeves are trendy without being too fashion-forward so you can definitely still wear this look long after the puff-sleeve trend passes. If you're looking for a way to spice up your wardrobe for these last few weeks of winter, look for a sweater dress! A rosy, mauve color like this one is just made for Valentine's Day date, galentine's brunch, or even a day out in those early, still-chilly days of spring!
